Traditionally, construction sites protect their perimeters with chain link fence. However, more and more projects are starting to secure their site with wire mesh fence panels. While both get the job done, there are a lot of important differences between the two fencing options to be aware of.
For one, chain link fence panels are often very heavy and cumbersome. This makes it difficult to move around and install. You’re simply just going to need more time and more manpower to set up these heavier fence panels.
One of the main problems with chain link fencing is that the mesh is only attached to the side of the frame. So, after a bit of wear and tear, there’s a greater chance of tangling and knotting, which isn’t something you see with wire mesh fence panels because the mesh itself is actually welded to the frame of the panel.
Tangling happens pretty often, so you can imagine how inconvenient it becomes to stack chain link panels when you’re done at a job site and are moving to the next.
It’s no wonder many construction sites are starting to look at wire mesh fencing as an alternative to chain link.
Of course, being that they’re lighter, wire mesh fence panels are perceived to be less safe, that they’ll simply fall over. This isn’t really true, though.

Also, when you have lots of fence panels and you’re looking to transport them or put them into storage, wire mesh fencing is easier to stack and easier to transport than chain link fencing.
