Already had rails and and some slotted L-foot braces, but a change in plans from adding to a roof to putting the panels on a wood structure built to hold panels, meant I needed more of these braces to feel confident. Since the structure is a custom wood pergola designed to hold solar panels, I wanted more support for the rail that would be mounted 9-11 feet high and open to have wind pushing from behind as well as from the front. These were perfect to allow me to tie the rail to more of the 2"x6" studs about every 3 feet instead every 6 feet.
